at 1/9/2008 1:32:21 AMHmm, it would be nice.
I was personally disappointed when I didn’t see him in the painting but I am guessing that is because he was only popular here in the subcontinent and not around the world.

(first frame above) # 10 is not a real Pharoh, but an actor who played one…Yul Brynner. Old man lower left next to Chaplan is Noorman Rockwell, trumpet player is probably Ulysses S. Grant, man below him is either Daniel Boone or David Crockett from Alamo. Is that Dr. Kavorkian talking to Sig Freud?
44. Dorian Gray (Famous Artist)
I don’t know any artist with that name – the only “Dorian Gray” I know (or I can find on the Internet) is a character from a book.
That person (no. 44) looks Jewish – but I have no idea who it might be…
Looks to me that #41 is not Michelangelo but Vincent Van Gogh.
The man behind Mother Teresa is Michael Gorvachev. And the man standing left to Michael Jordan looks like Spanish painter Salvador Dali. Just behind Dali you will find Luciano Pavaroti.
Next to 36. Yasir Arafat (Palestinian leader) is Kirk Douglas as Spartacus; next to 44. Dorian Gray is Paublo Picasso; and believe 8. is Joe Lewis not Mike Tyson; behind the piano is Audrey Hepburn; next to 25. Karl Marx is Orville Wright. Not sure, but is 28. Jesus?
The man between Saddam Hussain (11) and Adolf Hitler (7) is Benito Mussolini
I thought #6 was Guan Yu, a valiant chinese warrior from the three dynasty period. His green outfit, long beard and curved halberd are all characteristic of contemporary portrayals of him.
I forgot to add earlier, but #28 which was suggested to be Jesus, is actually Confucius.
46 = Liu Xiang (110m Hurdles World Record (12.88) Holder)
51 = Dante Alighieri (Italian Poet)
41 = Vincent van Gogh (Painter)
44 = Henry Toulouse-Loutrec (French painter)
33 = Moses (???, I suppose Charles Darwin)
15 = Konrad Lorenz
26 = Wallenstein
55 = Dschingis Khan
Sigmund Freud sits under the Camel
52 = Larry Page (Google-Chief)
beneath Charly Chaplin is Henry Ford, the woman above is Audrey Hepurn, at the piano is Beethoven.
I miss 23 Persons.
In the second picture: the person next to 25 (Karl Marx) is Allama Iqbal.
What the hell they all are doing in one place?
person behind ghandi is Claude Monet – father of impressionism
I think the man right above Gandhi in the orange shirt is Benjamin Franklin.
To the left of 53 is Shi Huangdi, First Chinese Emperor who built the Great Wall.
to the left of 43 is Empress Dowager Cixi.
Chinese man to the left of 14 is Dr Sun Yet Sen, Father of Modern China.
Chinese man in front of Dr Sun Yet Sen is Premier Teng Hsiao-ping.
between 27 & 30 is Pablo Picasso?
Above 39 is Dr Fred Hollows, eye surgeon.
Left of 38 is Confucius.
Why do you number each person in the picture? that way, it’s easier for us to name the face.
I think you have Aristotle and Socratese mixed up, it should be switched. The man sitting on the chair under #14 (Margaret Thatcher) is Ferdinand Marcos.The man under #17 (Winston Churchhill) is Alfred Hitchcock. The man under Steven Spielberg with the plane in front of him is Orville Wright. I think the man holding the painting next to #41 is Picasso and the man in the trench coat standing above Michael Jordan is Salvador Dali and Confucious is standing behind Moses. Oh and the man standing behind Mother Theresa is Mikhail Gorbachev. The man behind Yasir Arafat looks like Alexander the Great. The man next to Mother Theresa with his back to her is Qin Shin, the first Chinese Emporer. Behind the piano is Audrey Hepburn and playing the piano is Beethoven. The man behind Salvador Dali is Luciano Pavorati.
THERES NO ALEXANDER THE GREAT IN THIS PAINTING!!! how can you leave him out??? the man you think is alexander the great, behind arafat, is julius caesar, where the hell is alexander the great
I was disappointed not to see lady diana there!
19. Temple (a girl character in a poem)?? Should be Shirley Temple – the singer, dancer, actress…
Between 10 and 14 is Charles de Gaulle.
Above Elvis is Humphrey Bogart?? Is 45 Kofi Anan or Nelson Mandella? Amelia Erhardt deserves a spot
Please number to all the Asian-look people. I know 15 Chinese in this pictures.
no. 24 is not Socrates, it is Leonardo Da Vinci, i can tell it because of the Vitruvian Man infront of him, which is one of his works
i miss the king of pop
michael jackson
#10 – “Pharaoh” is a title, not a name.
#30 – Lincoln was not a founding father of the USA.
#39 – it’s just George W. Bush, no II or Jr. His father is George H. W. Bush.
#44 – Dorian Gray is a fictional character, not a real person.
#19 is Shirley Temple, child actress and later diplomat.
#45 is Ariel Sharon, not “Alan”.
#41 is not “Michael Angelo”, nor even Michelangelo. It may be Vincent Van Gogh or Paul Gaugin.
#23 is Albert Einstein
#29 is Napolean Bonaparte (are you joking?)
At the piano in front of Hitler is Beethoven.
Behind the piano is Audrey Hepburn.
I believe the man to Hussein’s left is supposed to be Mark Twain.
To his left is Ferdinand Marcos.
To Margaret Thatcher’s left is Charles de Gaulle.
To Shakespeare’s left is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
In front of George Bush is Luciano Pavarotti.
In front of him is Salvador Dali.
In Addition to Alan Little’s corrections, William Shakespeare’s name is also mispelled. And #52 is neither Julius Caesar nor Aleander the Great–it’s Francesco Petrarca, an Italian poet and one of the earliest Renaissance humanists.
On the left of S. Freud #15 is Juan Antonio Samaranch, between #44 and #54 I think is Georges Braque (with cubistic painting) and man playing accordion above Einstein is Lev N. Tolstoy.
i’m pretty sure #28 is not the Japanese merchant Yakumo Maito, he’s the most famous chinese poet Li Bai, known for his love of wine and poems when he drinks
The four men standing above the rest in the upper right are Dante (in red) and the three artists who created this painting. Being discussed in the scene is the Divine Comedy.
No body mentioned Charles de Gaulle, between Thatcher and Ramsees,
On the right side of the picture, we find G.W. Bush, front of him, there is s guy seems to be opera singer, might be Pavaraoti, not sure, but what I’m sure of, is the guys infront of him, with long brown coat, he is Abwar Al Sadat, Egyption president between 1970-1981. Know him from his stick.
Behind ghandi, the guy seems a chef, I think he is a baker, seems to me as He is the one who made croissant, as in history he had important role to save Vienna fallen to Ottomans.
There is so many famous people who isn’t there, such as
Maradona
Martin Lother King
Mohammed Ali Clay
Salah Al Deen
Christopher Columbus
Joan of Dark
Robin Hood “if he is real”
Atila The Hun
Hanibal
Ferdinand Magellan
Isaac Newton
Thomas Edison
Wright Brothers
Alexander The Great
19 – Shirley Temple, Girl actress. Not from any poem, to my knowledge
.
