Guild Wars 2 fan, it is important to remember that there are some new MMORPGs that are coming up for 2013. Check out some of the most anticipated titles of the new year!
Survarium
If you are looking for something a little more post-apocalyptic, consider picking of Survarium, which is due out at the end of 2013. This game takes the best part of the MMORPG genre and combines it with a first-person shooter, putting you right in the middle of the action. When you want a gritty, darker game, this might be precisely what you need. Survarium is the perfect game for someone who is looking for dark forests that march on cities and strange artifacts that are just as likely to hurt you as help you. For someone who is tired of the fantasy genre, Survarium alone could make 2013 a great year.
Wildstar Online
Wildstar Online promises players a world that is a fantastic mix of technology and magic, all brought to you by some ex-World of Warcraft staff members. The style is more cartoony while being quite lively and expressive. Set in the world of Nexus, players are encouraged to build, conquer, collect or explore. It encourages several different play-styles with different rewards for each. Wildstar online is perfect for someone who is looking for something drawn in broad strokes and with a refreshingly different look all over.
Dungeon Hero
For the anime fans out there, there is Dungeon Hero, which combines anime aesthetics with all the hack and slash of your favorite MMO. This title is intensely focused on PvP, so leave your roleplaying characters somewhere else. While there is likely going to be some quests, trades and skills, the majority of the game play is going to be set in dungeons where players engage with one another. This game is perfect for someone who is looking for all-combat, all the time, and the early screenshots look pretty enough to interest people who are now used to fairly high-quality visuals.
EverQuest Next
For people who were around for the early days of shared-world gaming, it seems that EverQuest will never die. This year is going to see the release of EverQuest Next, which promises something entirely new even for EverQuest players. This game takes place in a parallel world to the ones that are inhabited by EverQuest 1 and EverQuest 2. One of the features that is being advertised quite hard is the ability to make a dungeons, both for your friends and for public consumption. The advent of dungeon creation marks a new step in the world of MMORPG, inviting the players to step into the shoes of the creators.
